Chris Rock ticket prices and sales skyrocket after Will Smith slap

Chris Rock’s Next Stand-Up Comedy Tour became one of the most popular tickets in town.

That of the comedian “Ego Death Tour” saw an explosion in ticket sales in the resale market after the now infamous moment at the Oscars when Rock’s prank at actress Jada Pinkett Smith’s expense led to a slap in the face from her husband, Will Smith.

“We sold more tickets to see Chris Rock overnight than we did in the last month combined,” secondary ticketing platform TickPick tweeted on Monday.

Rock’s tour begins this week and includes two shows on Saturday in New Jersey, at the Borgata Casino Event Center in Atlantic City. The comedian has yet to publicly comment on the incident at the Oscars.

Tick noted prices were selling for as low as $46 per seat last week. Now the cheapest ticket on the platform is $341.

If you shop around for prices, however, cheaper tickets can be found on other sites, such as StubHub, lively seats, ticket master, SeatGeek and MegaSeats. Seats to Rock’s 10 p.m. show on Saturday in Atlantic City can be found for about $100.

Rock will also team up with comedian Kevin Hart on a five-show “Only Headliners Allowed” tourwhich will take place in New York and New Jersey from July 21-25.

Rock is also listed as one of more than 100 huge comedians who will take part in the first-ever monumental 10-day show. Netflix is ​​a festival of jokes late April and early May.

As of press time, no announcement has been made as to when and where it will perform.

Either way, plenty of household names with set show dates at the inaugural festival include pete davidson, Tina Fey, Amy Schumer and Wanda Sykes.

The festival will take place at venues across the greater Los Angeles area from April 28 through May 8. Tickets for all shows are available here.
