While it’s true that Disney Parks are known for their signature thrilling rides, world-class entertainment, and delicious food and drink offerings, none of this would be possible without Cast Members in charge of all the necessary duties. so that everything turns to the park. gently.

Cast Members are also responsible for one of the most magical experiences offered in the Disney Parks, character interactions. While these interactions haven’t been quite the same since the reopening of Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World in April 2021 and July 2020, they continue to create discussion.

While most character interactions are joyful and create fond memories for the guests, sometimes they can take an unexpected turn.

This is the case of a video posted recently by Disney Stuff! (@_disney._stuff_), in which guests can see Captain Hook and Mr. Smee attack a cast member during what appears to be a parade, as hundreds of guests can be seen seated and standing while the music plays in the background. With little background information in the video, it’s impossible to tell which Disney park the footage is from.

We also previously reported a video where Eeyore can be seen slapping Captain Hook across the face. And while it’s true that these interactions were all fun, there have been incidents involving cast members accidentally injuring guests. This moment was clearly fun, and very performative and characterful.

Disney recently announced via its social media channels, and later via a post on the official Disney Parks Blog site, that character meet and greets will return to normal on April 18, so guests will soon be able to kiss at their favorite characters again!

Disney Parks Blog adds that the return of traditional character encounters is part of the return of entertainment experiences that have been gradually brought back to the parks:

This exciting milestone continues the recent and powerful momentum of the return of entertainment to Disney parks and resorts. As part of the 50and Celebrating the anniversary at Walt Disney World, we once again hosted shows such as “Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire” and “Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular,” as well as the Disney “Festival of Fantasy” parade and new experiences like “ Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade”. This spring, Disneyland will see the return of several beloved nighttime shows, including “World of Color,” “Disneyland Forever,” “Fantasmic!” and “Main Street Electrical Parade,” celebrating its own 50and anniversary. And aboard Disney Cruise Line, we’re once again delighting guests with fireworks at sea and magnificent Broadway-style shows on every ship.
