At Disneyland Resort, many visitors are waiting to see the parks return to normal. Although guests can enjoy cavalcades featuring Anna and Elsa, as well as Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Peter Pan, Alice, and more, there is still a void that many have tried to fill with the lack of entertainment caused by the pandemic. .

On April 22, Disneyland Forever finally returned to Disneyland Park’s Sleeping Beauty Castle, replacing Mickey’s Mix Magic. Joining the show, World of Color has returned to Disney California Adventure! At this time, we have seen work being done on the fountains in preparation for this return. And finally, Fantasmic! is preparing for its return to Disneyland Park on May 28, 2022. We also announced the return of the Main Street Electrical Parade, learn more here.

Yesterday we reported that we had seen the return of all shows, and anyone trying to get into Disneyland closer to any show time would likely have experienced the massive queues that have led to many between us invited to be held at the gates. We were held up at the gates due to the hitting capacity of the park. A cast member told us that this was the fifth time they had to restrict entry that night due to capacity. There were probably hundreds of guests being held at once, and it didn’t matter if you had a Disneyland park ticket. It seems that Park Hopping turned out to be a little more used than expected! Fortunately, everyone was able to enter at some point during the night and there were several parades.

The first performance of the Main Street Electrical Parade was at full capacity and when we went to pick up our seat for Disneyland Forever after the parade, we overheard Cast Members remarking that the fireworks had also reached capacity a few minutes after the parade. end of the parade.

Another thing we and others have noticed is that during the Disneyland Forever show on opening night, the fireworks stopped in the middle of the show. It seems likely that this was due to the winds that picked up as the show went on, as Disneyland will generally turn off the pyro and fireworks when the wind is stronger due to California’s dry climate and the hazards increase in forest fires.

Online, others discussed the sudden stoppage of the fireworks, saying, “Did anyone watch Disneyland Forever last night? (4/22). I was super excited to see the fireworks go off despite how windy it was during the day. About halfway through (after Winnie the Pooh) the fireworks stopped going off. Does anyone know what happened? I mean winds – but I was watching from Small World and saw a large pyro erupting extremely low from the backstage of the floor. He didn’t even rise in the air. I was wondering if that had something to do with it? »

Another guest said, “I was there too and never got an explanation! I’m glad we had fireworks and not a complete cancellation.” Many confirmed that this was likely the case with the windy weather that prevailed during the show. Luckily, last night’s show seemed to go off without a hitch!

Thankfully, we’re starting to see Disneyland return to a more pre-pandemic state, which means visitors will be able to have a more “normal” theme park experience when visiting. The return of all nightly entertainment is massive news and a huge draw for guests, so it will be interesting to see how attendance increases in April and May. At Disneyland Resort, mask mandates are now waived for fully vaccinated Guests, as is the case at Walt Disney World Resort. Although entertainment is getting closer to returning to normal, massive shows like Frozen – Live at the Hyperion still haven’t returned to round out the day’s entertainment.
