Fan suggests Disney cut park capacity by 75% and raise ticket prices
Recently, a discussion regarding Disney came up with a guest suggesting a very interesting method of cutting through crowds.

There’s no denying that the Disney parks are incredibly busy right now, possibly the busiest they’ve ever been. With thousands of guests visiting for spring break as well as the approaching summer months, it seems the “off season” is no longer a thing. As the Disney Parks continue to add exciting new attractions, seating sometimes just doesn’t seem like enough to keep up with the huge crowds that visit each day. This issue was posted online recently with a Disney fan creating a very dire situation.
A post on Reddit highlighted this issue, with one guest actually suggesting that Disney should reduce capacity by 75% so that the 25% still arriving have an amazing, uninterrupted visit. Of course, this would entail an increased cost, but the idea is interesting, to say the least.

Lots of users agreed with this suggestion, saying they would be 100% ready. An user said they would certainly be willing to do so, but it was more a question of whether they could actually afford the exorbitant ticket prices. another user said they weren’t afraid of crowds, but waiting several hours to get on an attraction isn’t fun. another user said they just wish we could go back to the agreements of the early 90s and 2000s. another user referred to the fact that Disney is already almost “inaccessible” to lower-middle-class families, so they wouldn’t want ticket prices to go up so much because it would block out a large portion of potential guests.
A solution to this problem was hinted at during the chat, with users suggesting trying Disney’s own VIP tours. These are special tours that customers can book, allowing them to experience any ride or attraction without interruption. Safer VIP tours below:

There’s no denying that Disney vacations are already expensive, with the price seemingly rising every day. Over the past few months we have seen food and merchandise become more expensive as well as certain types of tickets and special events. However, visitors can save money when visiting Disney parks. An example of this is that Disney recently revealed that guests with a Disney+ subscription could get a discount on their hotel room.
Another point of contention in the discussion was Disney’s Genie+ system. Disney Genie+ and Lightning Lane launched last year to much criticism and frustration, leaving many guests feeling confused about the service. In theory, this paid service should improve the visitor experience in the parks, but in practice it seemed like just an expensive route planner. These paid services allow guests to skip the line for a fee, meaning Disney now has a financial incentive to have long lines. At Disney World, for $15.00 per day per guest, you can skip the long line by making a Lightning Lane reservation (new FastPass) and returning at that time. At present, for many Guests, the jury is still out on the true usefulness and effectiveness of this service.
In the coming months, Visitors can look forward to several new experiences in the Parks, the most notable being the new guardians of the galaxy as well as the complete transformation of EPCOT. In the Magic Kingdom, guests are also eagerly awaiting the release of the new TRON roller coaster in Tomorrowland. For those who want to plan a trip soon, hope these prices won’t hurt you too much!
