Popular Walt Disney World Event Returns in January – What You Need to Know

Walt Disney World Resorts is bringing back one of its fan favorites – but you better be prepared to pay for the experience.

Disney After Hours returns in January, allowing guests to stay in the park for an additional 3 hours after the park closes to most of its visitors.

Customers are required to purchase a separate ticket for Disney After Hours. Not only does this allow guests to continue riding the attractions, but treats such as popcorn, ice cream, and drinks are included.

The appeal for customers is that the number of tickets is limited, allowing for much shorter wait times for popular rides.

At Magic Kingdom park, more than 20 attractions remain open for Disney After Hours. This includes Pirates of the Caribbean, Space Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise, and more.

At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you can ride the Millennium Falcon, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railroad, Toy Story Land attractions and more.

Disney calls the event an extra splash of pixie dust, allowing guests to experience more magic in less time.

But this privileged access comes at a price. Tickets for Disney After Hours range from $129 to $159 plus separate admission price for the rest of the day.

Disney After Hours will begin January 4 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and January 9 at Magic Kingdom Park. The event will continue at Hollywood Studios select nights through April 19 and at Magic Kingdom Park through March 27.

Tickets for the event go on sale Oct. 4 for guests of Disney Resort Hotels, Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels, and Shades of Green at Walt Disney World Resort.

Disney Vacation Club Members and Annual Passholders can also purchase Disney After Hours Tickets.

All other guests can start purchasing tickets on October 7.
