Think twice before you upgrade!

Today I called Walt Disney World to upgrade my two ticket orders to an annual pass. I hadn’t thought about my existing park pass reservations. Before continuing, the Cast Member asked me when I was going to visit next time. I informed him that I will be visiting Magic Kingdom on October 1, 2021 for the 50th anniversary celebration to start up.

Walt Disney World Annual Pass Upgrade Issue

The CM informed me that if I had upgraded my ticket today, my park passes would be forfeited. This is because they were booked as “Ticket Holder” and not as “Annual Pass Holder”. As a result, I would have been unlucky if he hadn’t informed me. There are currently no park pass reservations for Magic Kingdom 1/10 Annual Pass holders.

He recommended that I upgrade to an annual pass once I entered the park. In addition, it must also be done before the end of the day.

Upgrade from a ticket to a Walt Disney World Annual Pass

For those who don’t know, the price paid for your ticket order can be applied to a new Annual Pass. Your ticket must be either unused or completed before the last day of use to apply the value to a new Annual Pass. It is recommended that you perform your upgrade in person by visiting customer service.

The Annual Passes went on sale yesterday September 8 after being unavailable since the reopening in July 2020.

I’m super grateful to this Cast Member for letting me know about this! If he hadn’t, I wouldn’t have been lucky and my plans would have been completely destroyed.
