Two Disney World parks completely unavailable to ticket holders next week

As we accelerate the weekend into the week ahead, its clear demand for the Walt Disney World Resort continues to remain high as two entire Disney Parks at the Orlando Resort are sold out – if you don’t have a Park Pass for the two busiest parks of Disney Parks then you can no longer visit, even if you have a ticket!

The Park Pass reservation system at Walt Disney World Resort and other locations like Disneyland Resort in Southern California requires visitors to have a reservation in addition to a theme park ticket. Customers take responsibility for reserving their park passes at the same time as purchasing their ticket and, with both, can enter any park they choose. It will remain in force until at least 2024.

Each Disney World park – Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studi0s – requires a Park Pass reservation, i.e. if a guest wants to ride star wars: Rise of the Resistance at Hollywood Studios or Space Mountain at Magic Kingdom at jump rope, so they better have a slot booked for those parks well in advance – of course there’s the Park Hopper feature that allows visitors to hop to another Disney park starting at 2 p.m. But with virtual queues to navigate, Disney Genie+ and Lightning Lanes to shop, plan, and stack, and restaurant reservations to plan, it’s all a bit regimented at The Most Magical Place On Earth at present.

Looking ahead to next week, we can see via the official Walt Disney World Resort website that Magic Kingdom park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme park are completely unavailable to theme park ticket holders and certain Disney Hotel guests.

EPCOT and Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park are still available to visitors. So while time is up to visit these parks first, guests can head to EPCOT to ride the new Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind or wander around World Showcase, or even take a peek at the continued regeneration of the Future World. Or watch the animals of Kilimanjaro Safari and board the Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain attraction at Animal Kingdom, until 2:00 p.m. and visitors can walk through Main Street, USA and secure their vantage point from the Disney Enchantment fireworks in front of Cinderella Castle.

While park passes are locked in for general theme park ticket admission, annual pass holders still have completely open availability, as seen in the screenshot below ( August 3 is hidden because ITM already visits the parks on this date):

With summer crowds descending on the parks and international travel increasing due to school vacations, it looks like Walt Disney World Resort is ready for a busy few months.
