What happened to Regina Spektor? Reasons explored as singer cancels 2022 tour

Russian-American singer-songwriter Regina Spektor has canceled her remaining tour dates in 2022, due to a “bad case of Covid”. Spector, who kicked off his tour on June 25, was scheduled to wrap it up on October 27, but had to cancel 10 of his remaining fall tour dates.

In an Instagram post, Spector shared:

“After being so cautious and miraculously avoided for over 2.5 years, I came down with a bad case of Covid. I’m so sorry to everyone who bought tickets and came to see me in their city. I went from feeling bad to worse, to terrible. I lost my voice.

She further added, noting:

“I’m a little delirious with the fever, so in advance I apologize if this note isn’t too consistent. I’ve been struggling a lot lately, and all your love has helped me a lot. I hope mine will reach you as well. For now, I’ll have to sing you past recordings, and we’ll reschedule shows until theaters can get me back.

Regina Spektor 2022 Canceled Tour Dates

The singer performed at her last concert in Chicago on October 9 and played a pre-recorded message over the intercom. The message asked spectators to wear a mask to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and avoid canceling tour dates.

Earlier in June, Regina Spektor released her new studio album House, before and after through Warner Records. The new album’s tracklist includes Becoming All Alone, Up The Mountain, A Man’s Prayer, Raindrops, SugarMan, What Could Have Been, Spacetime Fairy Tale, Coin, Loveology, and Through a door. The Grammy-nominated artist teased Loveology since 2019.

To date, the singer has released six studio albums, with her debut album, titled 11:11which was released in 2001. In August, the singer re-released her debut album alongside a collection of live recordings from her New York debut.

Regina Spektor, who was born in Moscow, Russia, moved to New York as a child. She is famous for singing the theme song, You have timefrom the Serie Orange is the new black. It was nominated for Best Song Written for Visual Media at the 2013 Grammy Awards. Spektor’s album, start to hope, has been awarded a Gold certification by the RIAA. Subsequently, his two albums, Far and What we saw of cheap seatsdebuted at number three on the Billboard 200.

Before her studio album, released in 2022, Regina Spektor’s last work was the album Remember us for life, which was released in 2016.
